 Artist notes

 “The language of light chromosome”

 빛의 언어로서 머리 색깔 등 인간의 모습을 결정하는 ‘대립 유전자(allele)’는 곧 개인의 정체성이지만, 나아가 가족 관계를 파악할 수 있는 연결성을 지니고 있다. 이러한 유전자의 염색체는 개인과 가족, 과거․현재․미래를 이어주는 ‘고리’이기도 하다. 이러한 ‘고리’가 만드는 염색체(Chromosome)관계가 곧 개인과 가족이 연결되는 사회이고, 가족과 사회가 연결되는 세상이다. 즉 X·Y Chromosome의 형상은 곧 우주인 것이다.

As a language of light, The “alternative gene" that determines a person's appearance, such as hair color, is an individual's identity, but furthermore, it has the connectivity to identify family relationships. The chromosomes of these genes that connects individuals, families, past, present, and future. The Chromosome relationship created by this" ring" is a society in which individuals and families are connected, and a world in which families and society are connected. In other words, the form of X·Y Chromosome is the universe.
